VoltR is the story of four visionary entrepreneurs who reinvented the lithium battery. Their concept? Batteries manufactured in France from second-life cells, known as “remanufactured,” offering the same performance as new batteries, but with a significantly reduced environmental impact. VoltR is committed to a circular economy approach in Europe, extending the life of batteries while reducing the exploitation of precious resources such as lithium and cobalt.

Batteries made in France to reduce our footprint
These batteries are produced in France, near Angers. They are a local alternative to batteries that are usually sourced from Asia. The batteries do not need to travel across the globe to reach our heated clothing, which reduces emissions linked to the transport of goods.
Technology that benefits the environment
VoltR has perfected a technology that gives battery cells a second, even a third life. These cells, which are the most polluting part of a battery, are reused in new batteries without sacrificing their energy efficiency. The result? Fewer resources extracted, less waste, and the same performance.

How does it work?
The secret lies in the “performance ladder principle”: VoltR reallocates cells from batteries in devices that require higher performance to batteries in devices with lower performance requirements. This is how battery cells from bicycles at the end of their first life can perfectly meet the specifications of a new battery for heated clothing. An ingenious solution that allows for the manufacture of more eco-friendly batteries without compromising on performance.
These cells are the main source of batteries' carbon footprint, mainly due to the precious metals they contain, such as lithium and cobalt. By giving them a second life, VoltR helps to:
- reduce intensive mining,
- significantly lower the carbon footprint,
- and limit waste production.
